What is the difference between a bone conduction transducer (vibrator) and a speaker?
Vibrators and loudspeakers are both transducers, that is, they transform electrical energy into mechanical energy (vibrations) thanks to a magnetic field generated by a coil resting on a magnet. The difference occurs after the creation of vibrations. In the case of the bone conduction vibrator, the vibrations are transmitted to a metal plate while in the case of a speaker, the vibrations are transmitted to a membrane which will vibrate the air to generate sound waves. Many materials can function like a membrane on contact with a vibrator and thus create sound waves like a speaker.
How does bone conduction of sound work?
We speak of bone conduction when the transducer used is a vibrator. When the vibrating metal plate touches your skull, the vibrations are carried through your soft tissues and bones directly to your inner ear which transforms the vibrations into an electrical signal which is then transmitted to your brain.
How does air conduction work?
We speak of air conduction when the transducer used is a loudspeaker. The sound wave thus generated will hit your eardrum to make it vibrate. These vibrations are then carried through the ossicles in your middle ear to your inner ear which transmits to the brain.
What is directional air conduction?
A sound wave propagates naturally in all directions. In directional air conduction, the sound wave is directed to a specific area. There are different technologies for controlling the directivity of more or less complex and expensive waves. One of the techniques is to guide the wave to the chosen area, much like when we put our hands around our mouth to whisper a secret in someone’s ear. This technology involves on the one hand an appropriate placement of sound in space. On the other hand, the encapsulating material should allow greater reflection of the wave (the wave bounces off the surface of the material) and lower transmission (the wave passes through the material) and absorption (the wave is absorbed by the material). Thus, following successive reflections of the sound waves, they reach a slit near the user’s ear through which they can escape.

What is Bluetooth?
Bluetooth is the name of a short-range radio frequency (RF) technology that operates at 2.4 GHz and is capable of transmitting voice and data.
What is the range of my bluetooth?
The effective range of Bluetooth devices is 10 meters.
Why can’t I connect via Bluetooth?
Check if you have actually activated the Bluetooth connection on your phone.
Make sure your smartphone and product are close enough to each other. The range of Bluetooth is 10m.
Check the pairing process recommended in the user guide.
Try turning off your product or smartphone and then turning them back on.
Remove unnecessary Bluetooth connections from your phone, some smartphones limit the number of pairings.
Move away from the Wi-Fi router. Your Wi-Fi router may use the same spectrum as the product and thus cause interference.
Why does the product disconnect?
Stay within range of your headphones and your smartphone (10m maximum).
Remove all unnecessary Bluetooth connections. It could very well be that your smartphone is “overwhelmed” by the number of other devices trying to connect to it.
Make sure your product is sufficiently charged. Bluetooth headphones tend to disconnect periodically when the battery is low.
Try unpairing your product and then re-pairing it with your smartphone.
